| My sister and I chose this place as it looked good and the mention of good food attracted us. However our expectations were far exceeded, we could not have picked anywhere better. A perfect weekend. |

| We have so enjoyed another mini holiday back at Talbontdrain. It is a real joy from all aspects, Hilary offers so much: a warm welcome, excellent food, a cosy log fire, a relaxed atmosphere, and more. We just love the views, the wildlife, the location. All in all, a special place, a bit of heaven on earth. Thank you - we'll be back. |

| Talbontdrain is THE place to unwind and recharge your batteries! - charmingly situated in a picturesque valley at the end of a long, narrow, winding lane, and on Glyndwr's Way. In less than an hour you can be up the top of Pen y Darren - solitude, tranquillity and a breathtaking panorama - Plynlimon and Cader Idris both visible. Hilary is hospitable, intelligent, a passionate hill-walker, a brilliant cook. You can sink into a chair in the cosy guest room, by the log fire, and read, or be sociable at the big round table - the evening meal is extremely relaxed and informal. Rooms are comfortable, simple, unfussy, tasteful. There are two characterful, well-behaved dogs, and chickens and plenty of more casual wildlife outside. We've been back fourteen times since first coming ten years ago! |

Our overnight stay quickly turned into 7 nights! Hilary provides informal hospitality and wonderful homemade cooking including special dietary requirements. Talbontdrain location is just a few miles from Machynlleth yet offers a real away from it all feeling. It is a fabulous location with established walking routes right outside the door. It was wonderful to be walking all day and to return to superb food and a roaring fire. This is no ordinary B&B and Hilary is no ordinary lady. We have found Shangri La and plan to return as soon as possible. Thank you so much Hilary. |
